I would like to share some photos of Wat Pho in Bangkok. They were taken at different times. Wat Pho is one of the most famous tourist spots in Bangkok, so I think very few people visit the city without coming to this temple. I also visited it during my first trip to Thailand, which was in July 1987.
At that time, I actually did not want to go to Thailand. However, my friend asked me many times to go with him, so I finally decided to join the trip. I thought that I would just follow him after arriving in Thailand, so I did not study anything about the country beforehand. To be honest, I didn’t even know where Thailand was on the world map.
Looking back, I think that situation was lucky for me, because I was able to see Thailand without any preconceived ideas. If I had known something about Wat Pho at that time, I don’t think I would have been so impressed by the enormous size of the statue.
